Sacrament of Reconciliation

  • Please approach Father Paul before Masses
  • Private appointment is always available for those who wish it.  Please call Father Paul at the rectory 613-382-2017.
  • Sacrament of Marriage:  By appointment with at least six months notice to permit adequate preparation.
  • Sacrament of Baptism: Pre-Baptismal preparation required for all parents. You are welcomed to contact Father Paul even before the birth for preparation and arrangements.
  • Ministry to the Sick and Shut-ins: The Eucharist is brought regularly to the sick and shut-ins. Please notify the office if a family member is in hospital or confined to the home through sickness or old age. Anointing of the sick and Reconciliation are also available upon request.
  • Sacraments of Initiation (RCIA): Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion are celebrated during the Easter Vigil. Adults who wish to become Catholic are asked to contact Father Paul to determine what prepared is needed. Classes beginning in October.

Funeral Arrangements

Dear Parishioner:

On behalf of the parishioners of St. John the Evangelist and of St. Philomena's, we express sympathy on the recent death in your family.  Attached here is an Order of Christian Funeral Preparation Sheet that will be helpful in planning the funeral liturgy.

Once completed, please call Father Paul to discuss your choices and to make final arrangements to ensure a beautiful funeral liturgy for your loved one. -  Preparation Sheet

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

    • Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 8:00 am Mass followed by Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament 
    • Tuesday - Holy Hour at 6 pm followed by Mass at 7 pm
    • Mass on Thursday at 9 am followed Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

CHILDRENS LITURGY OF THE WORD

  • On Sunday, immediately following the Collect, Father Paul calls the little one for the Children’s Liturgy of the Word.  Children who have not received First Communion are invited to come forward.  Children are assisted by Sue Tompkins and adult volunteers. They hear the Gospel and pray their petitions in a manner suitable for their ages.
